Past Image Photography
bringing the past to life

This website features a selection  of the re-enactment photographs of Susanne and Kate Atkin and also links to current photographic work of Susanne Atkin, inspired by the legends and landscape of Cornwall.

Susanne Atkin MA, LRPS
BA (Hons) Degree in the History of Art from University of East Anglia and MA in Photography (University College Falmouth); worked as an archaeological finds researcher; then as a professional freelance indexer.

A serious interest in photography developed from attending re-enactments by the Fairfax Battalia of the English Civil War Society and the Tudor Group (as one who has always refused to don any kind of costume or kit!). I use both digital and film cameras, and am resisting learning how to use computer manipulation packages. A few images have had to be 'rescued' in some way, but the majority of the photos on this website have not been altered or manipulated on a computer.
